The Art of Life Included in Ohio Arts Councils Riffe Gallery 2017 Biennial Juried Exhibition

Posted October 27, 2017

The Ohio Arts Councils Riffe Gallery 2017 Biennial Juried Exhibition opens in the OAC Riffe Gallery on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 with a public reception from 5 pm to 7 pm.  The Art of Life, inspired by Charles Wilson Peale's The Artist in His Museum in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, was created as the centerpiece of the artist’s solo exhibition, Leslie Adams: Drawn from Life, at the Toledo Museum of Art. This monumental drawing, not purely a self-portrait, but rather a visual autobiography, is more importantly, a personal thank you note to the people, places, and institutions that have shaped both her artistic career and her life. Symbolic representations of the Statehouse and the Supreme Court of Ohio are included in the work. The artist will deliver a lecture on her work Thursday, Novemer 9th at noon in the Riffe Gallery.
