The Governing Board of the prestigious National Cathedral School in Washington DC has awarded Leslie Adams the commission to paint the official portrait of Kathleen O’Neill Jamieson. Mrs. Jamieson is National Cathedral School’s 10th head of school and has held that post since 2003. She announced in January 2018 that the 2018/2019 school year would be her last. Mrs. Jamieson is also a trustee of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation and a canon of the Washington National Cathedral. National Cathedral School is an independent Episcopal private day school for girls in grades 4-12 located on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. “National Cathedral School’s identity as an Episcopal school and historic affiliation with the Washington National Cathedral provide a remarkable opportunity to learn and grow in the embrace of a spiritual community that honors people of all faiths, nurtures each community member, and values service to others.” The portrait of Mrs. Jamieson will be unveiled at a Service of Thanksgiving at Washington National Cathedral in May.
